Bio

Mabel leads the Office of Government and Community Relations(GCR) for UC Davis. The office engages with local, state and federal elected officials, government agencies and community organizations on behalf of the campus. GCR plays a leading role in coordinating and sustaining state and federal support for the campus, and works with local jurisdictions and community organizations on initiatives to foster community health, economic vitality and educational opportunity throughout the Sacramento region.

Mabel currently serves or has served on the boards of local and regional community organizations including, American Red Cross, Davis Chamber of Commerce, Davis Downtown, Sacramento Asian Chamber of Commerce, Visit Sacramento, Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce, Woodland Chamber of Commerce, Woodland Opera House, United Way Yolo County Leadership Council, Northern California World Trade Center, Arts & Business Council of Sacramento, and Sacramento Theater Company. She served as an Honorary Commander at Travis Air Force Base and on the Association of Public Land-Grant Universities’ CEO Council Executive Committee.

Mabel is an American Leadership Forum Senior Fellow and former chair of the Metro Chamber’s Leadership Sacramento Program and was recognized with the Chamber’s “Volunteer of the Year” award.  

In 2009, she was appointed by Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef  to serve as Program Director for the UC Davis Centennial, which celebrated its 100 years of service to the region, state, nation and world.

Prior to joining UC Davis, Mabel worked for Congressman Vic Fazio. 

Mabel is a proud Aggie alum and holds a degree in political science and public service.
