Aggie Square has a strong relationship with the city of Sacramento that is a model for public-private partnership. Together we are creating an environment of collaborative technology and innovation that leverages the university’s strengths to become a catalyst for economic change, to create attainable jobs and to help spur economic vitality of the surrounding neighborhoods and the broader Sacramento region.

It will not only ensure a tight connection to the school’s great minds and resources but will also create jobs and economic development in the heart of Oak Park, along with more real opportunity for young people from all low-income neighborhoods in Sacramento." – Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg

UC Davis Chancellor Gary May and Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg, co-commissioned two committees to engage in the planning process.
