Community Engagement
Aggie Square will change how the university engages with the community. The typical model for university interaction with the public involves faculty developing knowledge then disseminating it. While this model works for a segment of scientific research, when your research depends on building trust and strong relationships with the community a different kind of model is needed. Aggie Square will strengthen community-engaged research and support by creating a place where these types of collaborations can take place.
Imagine individual faculty members and their public-facing centers together with community-based organizations and partners meeting or co-locating at Aggie Square. The traditional model that supports one-way interaction flips to one that elevates collaboration and engagement for the benefit of all.
Below you will find links to information that describes the vision of just how Aggie Square becomes a catalyst for this type of community engagement and support.
