Maker's Space: TEAM Lab at Aggie Square
Aggie Square Tenant Profile
The Translating Engineering Advances to Medicine (TEAM) Lab at UC Davis is a unit within Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis’ College of Engineering. The lab designs and manufactures devices to support research and to solve problems in human and veterinary health.
The professional engineers who staff the TEAM lab assist UC Davis faculty, researchers from other universities and private industry to design, fabricate and prototype custom equipment for research, medical devices and models for surgical procedures. The TEAM lab is currently housed in 1,200 square feet on the Davis campus. With limited space, the staff makes tough choices every time they want to add a new piece of equipment. They have to remove something to make room for the newest item.
With the expansion to the Life Sciences, Technology and Engineering East (LSTE-E) lobby at Aggie Square, the TEAM Lab will add five times more space. This expansion allows the lab more capacity to take on additional projects, enables the addition of the latest equipment and enhances closer partnerships with UC Davis Health faculty. In addition, the TEAM Lab will be positioned to support private industry and start-ups who will also be tenants at Aggie Square.
