Approximately 100 people attended the Aggie Square community engagement meeting on February 9, 2023 at the Oak Park Community Center.
Meeting highlights included:
- An overview and general update on Aggie Square.
- A detailed presentation on affordable housing projects along Stockton Boulevard by city of Sacramento staff.
- Housing survey results.
- Information about the newly approved $2M in housing assistance and anti-displacement programs for residents in the four zip codes surrounding Aggie Square. Read about the programs and non-profit partners here.
- Presentations from organizations like SMUD, Sacramento Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity and the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) who shared information about programs for residents and homeowners.

Aggie Square Residential
Aggie Square’s mixed-use residential building is scheduled to open at the end of 2024. The residential building’s 190 apartment units are expected to be filled by UC Davis students, medical residents, faculty, staff and Aggie Square affiliates.
Transportation
The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) recently awarded funding for active transportation projects. Read more about the awards here. Two projects in Oak Park were approved:
- Envision Broadway in Oak Park: $1.1M
- Stockton Boulevard Complete Streets Project: $300,000
