Contractor Contributes to Local Community
We are excited to share how the general contractor for Aggie Square, Whiting-Turner, is actively engaging with the local community on a variety community service projects.
- Whiting-Turner coordinated and collaborated with administration from St. Hope Public Schools to fill 42 backpacks with binders, pens, pencils, art supplies and notebooks.
- Last fall, Whiting-Turner made a significant contribution to the planning and execution of a fundraising golf tournament for Folsom's Hope. In total, the event raised $94,222, all which goes toward helping at-risk students in our community.
- December 2022, Whiting Turner coordinated three holiday gift drives! They made eight children’s wish lists come true for Adopt-A-Family of Northern California, 113 gifts were provided to Moms Rock of Sacramento (an organization the provides support to parents who have the privilege of caring for special needs children), and a mountain of toys were donated to the City of Refuge Sacramento (a community-based organization created to support people living in marginalized communities of Sacramento and more).
- In addition, throughout the year, several Whiting-Turner employees coach the Associated Schools of Construction, or ASC, student competition where aspiring contractors and project manager college students compete against each other in teams. Whiting Turner works with the UC Davis Project Management team and the Sacramento State commercial team to test and enhance their knowledge on the many different facets of construction.
Thank you, Whiting-Turner! We are proud to engage with a contractor that positively impacts the local community. We look forward to sharing more of your community service throughout 2023!
